Use Bibblio’s recency setting to show your latest content

Timely over timeless

If your site has lots of content but only the most recent stuff is likely to be relevant to your audience (such as a news site), you can prioritize recency so that posts published within a chosen time span are more likely to appear as recommendations. Older articles may still appear, but only if they're extremely relevant.

Factors such as frequency of publication, total volume of articles and value of your historic content can help you determine which setting will work best for you, or whether you need to influence your recommendations with recency at all. 

Recency can be adjusted at any time in your Bibblio account or your WP admin if you are using the WordPress plugin.

Boost vs Truncation

Enabling the recency setting has two effects on a corpus:

  • Boost: Content published within a chosen time-frame will receive a “boost”, making it more likely to appear in the recommendations.
  • Truncation: Content published before the truncation period will not appear in the recommendations.

When you select a boost value on the recency slider, the truncation automatically gets applied according to the following scale:

  1. In your WP admin, go to Bibblio.

  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  3. Alter the recency boost slider to prioritize newer posts

  4. Wait 24 hours for the changes to apply.

How to change the recency setting in your Bibblio account

  1. Log into your Bibblio account.

  2. Navigate to the Content tab.

  3. Alter the recency boost slider to prioritize new posts.

  4. Wait 24 hours for the changes to apply.
